Media, Democracy & Diversity Conference @ UVa

Today is the LAST day to register online for the Media, Democracy & Diversity Conference, which is taking place here at UVa this Friday! As stated on the event site:

This interdisciplinary, pan-University conference will examine the impact of media on issues of identity, inclusion, and citizenship. We hope to create an intellectual space where students, faculty, staff, and members of the local community can come together and engage these issues – both during the sessions and online.

In the spirit of the University, our goals for this conference are to provoke thoughtfulness about beliefs and behaviors, contemplation on how those are reinforced or undermined in media, and consideration of the resulting impact on our unique roles in this democracy.

There are a variety of concurrent sessions for you to choose from. We hope you enjoy the sessions and look forward to your feedback post-conference.

This is something you definitely won’t want to miss, so make sure to register now before it’s too late!

(For more information about the event, including conference speakers, panelists and moderators, visit the official event site at http://www.uvamedia2010.com.)
