If you’re a first-year or second-year UVa student, here’s a great opportunity to get more involved:
The Peer Health Educators (PHEs) are a diverse group of 45 U.Va. students trained to educate their classmates about college health and wellness issues in a positive, interactive, fun, and nonjudgmental manner.
Comprehensive training prepares the PHEs to provide confidential patient education sessions; facilitate dynamic outreach programs; encourage physical, mental, and spiritual health; create informative awareness events; and promote community support to create a healthy campus culture.
To apply, you must be a first or second year. If you are interested in college health issues, please apply! no matter what your major or background. In other words, you do not have to be a science/pre-health student.
Please visit http://www.virginia.edu/studenthealth/phe.html for more information and the application.
Information sessions are on the following dates, in Minor Hall, Room 125:
– Tuesday, February 23 at 8:00pm (TONIGHT)
– Tuesday, March 2 at 8:00pm
Applications are due on Friday, March 5 at 5:00 PM outside of the Office of Health Promotion in the basement of Student Health. No late applications will be accepted!
