Hey people, I’m hitting you with part 2 of this week’s events…I was so serious when I told you I got a lot of event invites on Sunday night. This will probably be my last set of event updates for the week but I’ll have more for you next week should I see something worth your time.
B.U.C.K.S presents “Critical Condition – A Forum on Healthcare” @ 7pm in Clark 102. Health issues such as nutrition and primary care are like to many community ills such as low educational performance. Any type of reform passed by congress and signed into law will tremendously impact black and brown communities. The plan is to discuss pending reform efforts in congress.
Opera Viva Interest Meetings @ 7pm in the Chemistry Building, Room 307 (there will be a second interest meeting on Thursday). Go out and learn more about Opera Viva and its upcoming season. The directors for each show will spend a few minutes talking about their productions and how you can get involved. Come meet members of the organization and have some free pizza!
Gotta show love for my friends in the Blu & White Pham, @ 6pm in Clark 101 Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc. and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. will be hosting their event “Meet the Blu and White Pham.” This is a good meeting for any of you interested or curious about Greek Life at UVA because there is definitely more to it than hosting parties. This event is a good chance to learn the history behind the first and only constitutional bonded Fraternity & Sorority within the National Pan Hellenic Council.
The Black Student Alliance is hosting a “BSA TAILGATE!!!!!” @ 4pm on the Tuttle Dorms Patio for the first home football game (versus William & Mary). Bottom line is food (from Mel’s), music, and social time with your peers…get out there and have fun because any UVA football game is a blow-out waiting to happen (prove me wrong fellas).
