The Blueprint 3

Here goes some of the cover art for Jay-Z’s “The Blueprint 3” album set to drop on 9/11/2009. For those who are unaware 9/11/2001 was the release date  of Jay-Z’s “The Blueprint” (a classic). UPDATE: TRACKLIST ADDED

Is this the face of the next hip hop classic?

Is this the face of the next hip hop classic?

If you know Hov’s album style you knew that “The Blueprint 3” was a lock to drop at some point after he released a “The Blueprint 2:

The Gift & The Curse.” And I quote…

In My Lifetime ___ go do your research, same time as my ___ THAT WAS ME FIRST.

Now I don’t know if Jay was the true pioneer of the three chapter album series but since the releases of Vol.1 -3 (In My Lifetime, Hard Knock Life, & The Life and Times of S. Carter) many rappers have mimicked the structure as a way to create an identity for their music. But, truth be told…coming from a die-hard Jay-Z fan, this is not the same rapper from years past; I highly doubt that he’s fallen off lyrically…more like he’s risen so high from the Marcy Projects that the edge he once had has gone down. I think this album could be the Return of the King, featuring the vintage “Jay Hova” from Reasonable Doubt,  The Blueprint, and The Black Album. Whether or not Hov will sell isn’t a question, its a guarantee!

this may be blasphemous, but i am unimpressed with the singles out so far. DOA? nice try but i doubt its going anywhere– this electro-hop scence is coming on hella strong. and ‘run this town’ is just boring; Jay gets treated on his own track by Ye. its sad but i foresee it becoming increasingly difficult for old heads like common and jay to stay relevant. i’d actually like jay AND beyonce bow out on top.

Fellas, Im sorry to say but Common will always stay relevant if he keeps looking like this:
